MNACVPR

Dear MNACVPR members, 

          First off, let me introduce myself.  My name is Kari Weber.  I am registered respiratory therapist, certified asthma educator, and cardiopulmonary rehab specialist for Austin Medical Center-Mayo Health System in Austin, MN.  I’ve been here longer than I would like to admit, and this is second time I have been president of MNACVPR.  Once again, I have big shoes to fill.  Previous presidents have been very forward-thinking and have done a lot to gain our state society national recognition.

          Second, I want to commend all who have taken what their programs offer one step farther.  I was very impressed by what programs are offering in the state, and felt challenged to start something new here.  I hope others felt the challenge as well.

          Third, what I would like to see happen over the next year is the following.

-Promote membership and volunteerism within MNACVPR.

-Encourage others to expand on the innovative programs being offered.

-Increase exposure of cardiac and pulmonary rehab programs both state wide and locally to showcase that our benefits go beyond the bottom dollar.

-Provide more information and tools on disease management.
